Location & Timing

I have a small booth – How many space do I need for the food?

The needed space depends on what you would like to offer. Please contact us, to talk about this.

When will the dishes/beverages/equipment will be delivered?

Please note the day and time of delivery for the dishes, beverages and the equipment on our order forms.

Is it possible to reorder during the fair?

We are looking forward to taking your re-oder. We can take reorders for food until 2 o’clock a day before.

Do you deliver on the weekend as well?

During or shortly before a fair we deliver on the weekend as well.

Staff

Which staff do you offer?

We offer the whole staff, that depends to gastronomic services. That means: 
barista, bar keeper, buffet staff food, buffetiers, event supporter, cassier, chef, chef help, logistician, bar staff or staff juice bar, service manager, service staff, cleaning staff, staff sales and beer tapper.

Do we need a service manager?

Our service manager coordinates the processes and is your contact person at the booth. At all points we recommend to order a service manager.

How do the clothes of the service staff looks like?

The clothes of our service staff are standardized. They wear a black shirt and trouser with skirting without logo and a silver tie.

Is it possible to book staff only?

We can provide staff only in combination with our catering services.

We have shirts with a logo of our company. Is it possible that the staff wears these shirts?

Of course it is possible that our staff wears shirts with a logo of your company.

Organizational: Payment

Which credit cards do you accept?

We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club credit cards.

When do we get the invoice?

The invoice for all the catering services will be send some weeks after the fair from our accounts department.

Do we have to pay delivery fees?

For beverage orders we don’t have delivery fees. For each food order, we charge a delivery fee of 10 Euro net. For deliveries of equipment and rental service we charge a delivery fee of 20 Euro net per delivery.

Do we get the invoice for the catering together with the invoice of Deutsche Messe AG?

For the catering you will get a separate invoice from the Messe Gastronomie Hannover GmbH.

Do I have to pay directly at the fair?

You will get an invoice for all the catering services after the fair.

Is it possible to pay by credit card?

Of course it is possible to pay by credit card. If you like to pay by credit card we can send you the appropriate form by mail.

Are the prices gross or net?

The mentioned prices are excluding V.A.T.

Do I have to pay V.A.T.?

Yes, you have to pay V.A.T.

Organizational: Further Questions

What is the order number?

In some companies the purchasing department has to start an order and the order number has to be on each document as well as on the invoice. In this case please note the order number in the appropriate field. If this is not necessary in your company, you don’t have to fill this field.

Is it possible to order in the OBS Shop?

A direct order of catering services through the OBS Shop is not possible. You can find a link to our website in the OBS Shop. There you can find our order forms.

We have an official event (press conference) at our booth and need a catering service for this. Do you offer catering for such events as well?

We will be glad to create an individual offer for you. We are looking forward to your enquiry.

Is it possible to order XY? I couldn’t find this at your order forms.

Rental Service: Coffee Machines

Do you offer coffee machines?

The beverage service offers a Nespresso Zenius and a small coffee machine for brewed coffee. For bigger coffee machines, fully automatic coffee machines or a traditional espresso coffee machine please contact our standcatering team.

Do I need a power socket for the coffee machine?

You need the following power sockets for the coffee machines:

  • coffee machine for brewed coffee (beverage service): 230 V 800 W
  • coffee machine for brewed coffee: 230 V 2,5 kW
  • Nespresso Zenius (beverage service): 230 V 1860 W
  • Melitta Bar Cube: 230 V 2,8 kW
  • traditional espresso machine: 230 V 3,5 kW

Is it possible to prepare tea with the Nespresso machine?

The Nespresso machine can prepare hot water, so you can prepare tea with it.

How many space do I need for the Melitta Bar Cube?

The Melitta Bar Cube is 73 cm wide, 50 cm deep and 70 cm high. If you are using the Melitta Bar Cube with a canister system, you will need the following space for the canister additionally: 40 cm width, 40 cm depth and 60 cm height.

How many space do I need for the Nespresso machine?

DThe Nespresso machine is 19 cm wide, 39,9 cm deep and 31,3 cm high.

When do you collect the Nespresso machine?

The Nespresso maschine will be collected two hours before the end of the fair.

Can I bring my own capsules for the Nespresso machine?

Of course you can bring your own capsules for the Nespresso machine. Please note, that the machine is one of Nespresso Professional. For these machines you can’t use the capsules that are for the private use.

Does the Melitta Bar Cube has a water tank or do I need a water supply?

Both (water supply or canister) will be possible.

Are milk, sugar and beans included in the rental charge?

The resources are not included in the rental charge. They can be ordered through the beverage service.

Do you offer coffee machines for brewed coffee?

The beverage service offers a small coffee machine for brewed coffee. If you are interested in a bigger machine, please contact us.

Rental Service: Watercooler

Do I need a special watercooler, if I would like to get hot water as well?

Yes, you need a watercooler with hot water function then. Please inform us about this, when you send us your order.

Do I need a power socket for the watercooler?

For the watercooler you need the following power socket: 230 V 0,08 kW.

How many space do I need for the watercooler?

The watercooler (inclusive water drum) is 38 cm wide, 38 cm deep and 145 cm high.

When will you collect the watercooler?

The watercooler will be collected two hours before the end of the fair.

Does the watercooler includes beakers or do I have to order them separately?

100 beakers (0,2 l) are included in the order of a watercooler. You can order further beakers from our beverage service.

Can I select a colour for the watercooler?

Unfortunately we can’t offer a selection of colour for the watercooler.

Do I need a table tap or an under table tap? Where is the difference?

The table tap will be placed onto a table. You can place the keg and the carbonic acid under the table then. Please note, that the table is not included. An under table tap will be integrated in an existing bar counter. The tap, keg and carbonic acid are placed under the counter. For the faucet we need a hole in the counter of ca. 8cm.

I would like to offer two different beers. Is that possible?

Normally we offer taps with one line. If you would like to offer two different beers, we have to provide a tap with two lines. Please inform us about this, when you send us your order.

For how many beer one bottle of carbonic acid is enough?

One bottle of carbonic acid is enough for about 600 litres of beer. Of course you can reorder bottles of carbonic acid during the fair.

Do I need a power socket for the tap?

You need the following power socket for a tap: 230 V 400 W.

How many space do I need for a tap?

A table tap has the following measures: 50 cm height, 55 cm width and 40 cm depth. Furthermore you need space for the 30 l keg (50 cm high and 37 cm diameter) and a bottle of carbonic acid (63 cm high and 16 cm diameter). The under table tap has the following measures: 50 cm height, 55cm width and 40 cm depth. Furthermore you need space for the 30 l keg (50 cm high and 37 cm diameter) and a bottle of carbonic acid (63 cm high and 16 cm diameter). The under table tap requires a 8 cm big whole.

How big must the hole be for the under table tap?

The under table tap requires a 8 cm big whole.

Is it possible to order another beer keg?

If you would like to order another beer keg, please contact us. We will check if we can deliver this as well.

Is the setting up included?

The setting up of the tap is included.

Rental Service: Others

Can I order a fridge?

If you book a full service catering we can provide catering furniture like a fridge. If you would like to order a fridge only, you can order this in the OBS shop.

Do you offer a microphone and a sound system?

We are a catering company. So we don’t offer microphones or sound systems. But you can order these services in the OBS shop.

Equipment

Is it possible to order only 10 glasses? Do I have to take a complete rack of glasses?

We rent glasses only in racks. Then they are packed safely. Unfortunately it is not possible to rent only 10 glasses.

How do the glasses look like?

Our cups and saucers are white. The glasses are plain of glass. We can send you pictures of our rental service. If you like to get pictures, just contact us.

Do I have to rinse the dishes before returning them?

We have to rinse the dishes after each usage – due to hygienic reasons. So you can give back the dishes dirty.

I don’t have a dishwasher at the booth. Do you offer an exchange service?

Of course we can deliver new dishes every day and can collect the used dishes. If you would like to use this service, please inform us when you order the dishes.

Do you have bowls for snacks?

You can use our glass bowls, squared, 18 cm or for smaller snacks our dessert bowls.

Do you rent beer or coffee mugs?

Of course we can offer beer or coffee mugs. Please send us your enquiry. We will check the availability and send you a quotation.

Do you offer disposable tableware?

You can order disposable tableware from our beverage service

Do you offer the skirting for the tables and the buffets in white as well?

We can provide the skirting for the high tables in white as well. We offer the tabletop buffet skirting only in black. If you would like to have the buffet tables in white, we can prepare a scirting. Please contact us.

Can I order towels, dish liquid and towelling paper?

If you book a delivery only, we don’t sell these products. If you order a full service catering we will bring all the necessary equipment and resources.

Is it possible to reorder if I need more dishes?

Of course you can reorder during the fair, if you need more dishes. When the dishes are available in our equipment storage, we will deliver them to your booth. Please note that we charge the delivery fee of 20 Euro net per delivery.

Can I order high tables and scirtings?

We can provide high tables and scirtings for your party at the booth or your lounge.

When, how and where do we give back the equipment?

The equipment will be collected at the last day of the fair. Please put it back into the boxes.

Food

How much food do I have to calculate per person?

Soup

0,2 l per person – as part of a meal
0,3 l per person – as principal componente in addition to a small dish (garnished roll)
0,4 l per person – as main meal

How do you deliver the dishes?

Cold dishes are presented on black disposable plates and in a paper box. They are reclosable and stackable. Warm dishes are delivered in Chafing Dish basins in a thermo box.

How does the fingerfood buffet works?

The mentioned price for the fingerfood buffet is a price per person. You can order the fingerfood buffet from 20 pieces on – means 20 person. Each person gets one piece of each mentioned fingerfood article. The dishes will be presented on plates on a buffet. When you order a delivery only buffet tables, dishes and cutlery as well as the set-up and dismantling are not included.

Do I have to choose one topping, when I order a snackbox?

No, you don’t have to choose one topping. You will get a snackbox with all mentioned toppings.

Is it possible to get the snackbox with a different topping?

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to prepare the snackbox with an individual topping. You can tell us one topping, that you don’t like to get and then you will get more of the others.

I’m looking for garnished rolls. Do you offer this as well?

Yes, we offer garnished rolls. You can find them in the section snackboxes.

Do you offer vegan food?

Some of our products are vegan (fruit basket, fruit salad, fruit skewer, vegetable pincho with avocado cream, seasonal mixed salad with sprouts and herb dressing and the couscous salad “Oriental”). We can provide further vegan food on request.

Do you offer lunch bags?

Of course we can deliver lunch bags. Please send us an e-mail with your wishes and we will prepare an offer for you then.

The minimum order quantity for fingerfood is three portions. Do I have to take the same product three times?

You don’t have to take three portions of the same fingerfood article to reach the minimum order quantity. You can choose three different fingerfood articles from the section fingerfood cold (or fingerfood warm or fingerfood sweet). Unfortunately it is not possible to choose one portion from the section fingerfood cold, one portion from the section fingerfood warm and one section from the section fingerfood sweet.

Can I choose one portion from the section fingerfood cold, one portion from the section fingerfood warm and one portion from the section fingerfood sweet?

No, unfortunately that is not possible. The three portions will be placed on one disposable plate and we could not mix cold, warm and sweet dishes.

How long will the dishes keep warm in the thermo box?

GThe thermo boxes are for the delivery only and for the time slot of half an hour through the time of delivery. If you don’t open the box, you can assume that the dishes will keep warm for half an hour additionally. If you connect the thermo box with a power socket the dishes will keep warm longer.

How many Chafing Dishes do I need for a fingerfood eventbox?

For a fingerfood eventbox you need one Chafing Dish.

I would like to order warm dishes. But we are only 10 person. What can you offer?

The warm dishes from the section crewcatering are offered from 20 person on. An alternative for 10 person could be a warm fingerfood eventbox, a soup or one of the warm dishes from the snacks (sausages, meat balls, escalopes). Please find further information here.

Can I order a birthday cake?

Of course we can deliver a birthday cake. Please send us an e-mail with your wishes and we will prepare an offer for you then.

What is a Chafing Dish?

A Chafing-Dish is to keep the food warm. The basin with the dishes will be placed in the provided shelf. The burner fuel below keeps the food warm.

Can I bring my own dishes, that will be prepared by you?

Unfortunately that is not possible – due to hygienic reasons.

an I order only 10 portions of the warm meals of the crewcatering?

The warm dishes from the section crewcatering are offered from 20 person on. An alternative for 10 person could be a warm fingerfood eventbox, a soup or one of the warm dishes from the snacks (sausages, meat balls, escalopes). Please find further information here.

How many portions are one litre of soup?

We calculate 0,2l to 0,4l soup per person. It depends, if it should be only a component of a meal or the meal itself. One litre of soup will be 2,5 to 5 portions.

Do you have pictures from the dishes?

Yes we have pictures of our portfolio. Please contact us and we will send you the pictures.

Can I order catering 1-2 weeks before the fair for our standbuilder?

During the set-up period you can visit the Snack & Store at the fairground.

Which fruits are included in the fruit basket?

The content of the fruitbasket depends on the season. Apples, bananas and grapes are included nearly every time. Furthermore we add seasonal fruits.

Until which time I have to order by the latest?

You can order dishes until 2 o’clock a day before. Of course you can order earlier. You still have the possibility to change your order until 2 o’clock the day before.

For how many people one fingerfood eventbox is enough?

The eventboxes have a fixed number of pieces. For how many people a fingerfood eventbox is enough depends on the pieces per person that you calculate.

Are plates and cutlery included in the dishes?

Plates and cutlery are not delivered with the food. If you would like to have this, you can order it from our order form rental service or you order disposable tableware from the beverage service.

How big are the boxes and is my fridge big enough for them?

The boxes for cold dishes are 8 cm high, 55,5 cm wide and 37,5 cm deep. The thermo boxes for warm dishes are 30 cm high, 60 cm wide and 35 cm deep.

Standparty

How long can my party at the booth take?

Normally a party at the booth can be until 22:00 Uhr. If your party should be longer you need a special permit of the department of the Deutsche Messe AG.

How many guests am I allowed to invite?

Normally you calculate ca. 1,5 m² of the space of the booth per guest. You will get an information of the maximum amount of guests who are allowed for your party, when you register for your party at the booth.

Do I need a permit for my party at the booth?

Each party at the booth has to be registered and approved from the organization team of the fair.

Can I play music?

From 18.30 o’clock on you are allowed to play music. Please note that you have to pay the GEMA licence fees.

Do you offer a DJ?

Of course we can place a DJ or other music. Just talk to us.

I would like to offer cocktails. Do you offer cocktails?

Of course we can provide cocktails for your party at the booth. We are looking forward to your enquiry.

In your party packages it is noted „up to 50 person". We are only 30 person. Can I book this?

Our party packages are offered for groups up to 50 person. We can prepare an individual offer for your party with 30 guests. We will include all necessary items and services. We are looking forward to your enquiry

I have a small booth and would like to have a party with my guests. Do you have an idea for me?

You can book one of our restaurants for your evening event. Please find the information concerning the restaurant packages here.

What is "additional supporting material"?

We arranged an additional supporting material package for our service managers. This includes useful things like bottle openers, corkskrew, cleaning material, a pair of scissors, tape, pens and some things more.

Until which date could I change the number of guests?

If we have to change the number of service staff due to the change of the number of guests please tell us the new number of guests until 4 weeks before the event by the latest. You can tell us a smaller change (until 20 person more/minus) until 3 days before the event.

What are partition walls and for what do I have to use them?

We are building up a bussing station with these walls. We store the used dishes and cutlery behind these walls, so that your guests don’t see this.

Are the beverages included?

If you book one of our party packages the beverages are included. Otherwise the beverages will be charged after consumption.

Are the buffet tables at the bar for the glasses?

Yes, they are. We will place the necessary glasses for the event on these tables.

Can I reorder beverages or food for my party at the booth shortly?

A reorder of beverages during the party at the booth is possible at any time. Our service manager takes care of this. A reorder of food is not possible because our kitchen is closed in the evening.

What do you think has to be changed at my booth for the evening event? Do I have to remove something?

That depends on the layout and the space of your booth as well as on your catering wishes. Please take care of your exhibits, so that nothing can be broken.

How many space do I need for the bar and the buffet?

A standard bar has the following measures: ca. 3,5 m x 2,5 m and a buffet ca. 5 m x 1 m. We change it according to the catering wishes and the booth, so these are approximate values only. Please send us a plan of your booth so that we can prepare a suitable proposal.

Can I offer my buffet „Flying“?

A buffet can’t be offered with a flying service. This is only possible with “Fingerfood”. 

Can I choose items of different theme buffets to get an individual buffet?

Our theme buffets have a wide selection. If you would like to change something just contact us.

Is it possible to use the corridor?

As noticed in the regulations for catering guests are only allowed to walk and stand in the corridors. Corridors are escape ways and therefore it is not allowed to place furniture on these areas.

Fair Package Gastronomy Package

What is included in the fair-package catering package?

The fair-package catering package includes a small coffee machine, a small water kettle, 80 coffee filter, 100 coffee spoons, 500 g ground coffee, 25 bags Darjeeling and 25 bags green tea, 120 portioned milk, 150 Coffee to go beaker, 9 litres plain water, 100 portioned sugar, 2 packages Celebrations, 2 kg cookies, 2 boxes of mineral water.

When do I get my fair-package catering package?

The fair-package catering package will be delivered in the early morning of the first day of the fair.

Do I get a table for the coffee machine/water kettle as well?

A table for the coffee machine and the water kettle is not included in the catering package. You can order a table in the OBS Shop.

Beverages

Can I reorder beverages shortly?

Yes, you can order beverages daily from 08:00 – 18:00 o’clock. The beverage service will deliver quickly and on the same day.

When do you collect the empty bottles?

The beverage service collects empty bottles at your booth. If you would like to give bottles back, just call the beverage service under +49 511 89 33770. On the last day of the fair a collection of empty bottles is offered until 13 o’clock. You can give back empty bottles until the end of the fair at the beverage service in hall 9.

The beverage service offers brewed coffee. Will you replace it regularly?

The brewed coffee will be delivered in a thermo jug. It will not be replaced regularly. You can order coffee for different times, so that it will be changed then.

How long does the coffee stay warm in the thermo jug?

The coffee stays warm in the thermo jug for 2-4 hours.

Which tea do you offer?

We offer the following teas: Earl Grey, fruit, green, rose hip, chamomile, peppermint and Darjeeling. If you like to get another tea, just tell us and we will check if we can provide this as well.

How does the ice will be delivered?

The ice will be delivered in a bag. For the transport it will be in an ice box.

Does the beverage service takes back unused drinks?

The beverage service does not take back unused articles.

Do I get a confirmation for my beverage order?

Yes, you will get a confirmation mail shortly before the event.

Can you deliver a bottle opener as well?

Of course we can deliver a bottle opener. Please inform us when you send us your order.
